I am a creator who performs an artistic synthesis, merging classical and impressionist elements in an evolution towards a distinctive abstract. Each of my works embodies this artistic confluence, where tradition meets innovation to give birth to a unique style. I invite you to discover my work, where the diversity of influences unites in a rich and evocative artistic expression.
Pensées dans la brume, huile, 20x24
This older work stemmed from a certain need to step off the beaten path. I let my imagination take over. The beginning of a profound exploration of color and light on water and in the sky, in a way, it represents a certain precursor path to the foundations of my current artistic approach. Over time, this painting would represent an important milestone in my artistic development.
Étendue glacée, huile, 20x24
In this dramatic atmosphere, an exploration of themes and lighting conditions under a different thought.
The use of cool tones and shades of blue and gray create a powerful and melancholic atmosphere. The study of cold light highlights the hardness of the rock through the snow, and the winds and swirls then energize this icy landscape.
This work continues my exploration of the countless expressive capabilities of oil colors.
Nénuphars, printemps, huile, 24x12
Play of light and reflections to create depth effects.
I was aiming to capture the morning light and found myself immersing my gaze in the blue shadows. A mere detail can thus fill the mind with a feeling of calm and contemplation. I attempted to work in harmony with the warmth of the sky, the coolness of the pond, and the expression of the aquatic plants, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the work, seeking to offer a sensation of escape.
Giverny, jardin de Monet, 24x30
I cannot hide my boundless admiration for the impressionist masters; my personal quest to capture light proves it well. Water can serve as a mirror, not only to reflect the image but also to suggest a deeper metaphysical depth, an invitation to contemplation.
True to my approach of pushing the limits of perception and exploring beyond what we see, this canvas embodies my quest for new sensory and visual experiences, challenging the traditional perception of color and light. I rely on glazes, thus paying homage to tradition while being resolutely modern and personal.
Mon Giverny à Central Park, N.Y., huile 24x30
This canvas titled "My Giverny at Central Park" explores the Impressionist themes of light and nature while capturing the essence of a peaceful environment in the heart of a dense urban context. This work resonates with my quest to understand the coexistence of nature and urbanization.
The scene I have painted evokes the American green sanctuary, reminiscent of Claude Monet's gardens at Giverny. I used vibrant greens and light play on the water to reflect the subtle nuances of my pigments. The barely visible characters are deliberately placed to accentuate the depth. My technique of glazing for the reflections in the water, with the nuances and textures, aims to preserve the mystery and beauty of this place.
This corner of serenity in the heart of Central Park, within a city as bustling as New York, aims to capture not only the visible beauty but also the inner essence and sensory experiences that only nature can offer. My painting explores beyond "what we see," inviting viewers to dive into deeper reflection on the coexistence of nature and the city.
Central Park South, N.Y. huile, 24x30Ś
My painting of Central Park South, New York, celebrates nature within urbanity. The juxtaposition of the lush greenery of the park with the city's iconic skyscrapers is a powerful theme that resonates well with my artistic approach, focused on depth, luminosity, and the interaction between humans and their environment.
Central Park, an oasis of calm amidst urban hustle, offers a place of rejuvenation and meditation, captured in my work. The characters appear engaged in contemplation or social interactions, thus bringing a human dimension to the scene. My attention to detail, from reflections on the water to the textures of trees and grass, demonstrates my commitment to exploring depth and texture, as well as my ability to capture the essence of a moment.
This work demonstrates my ability to capture scenes of everyday life while opening a window onto broader concepts, such as the coexistence of the urban and the natural, a recurring theme in contemporary art. The inclusion of characters was a real challenge, as they needed to be created and from there, they breathed true life into the canvas.
Gapstow Bridge, Central Park, New York, huile 26x30
My painting 'Gapstow Bridge, Central Park, New York' celebrates light, texture, and the harmony between nature and architecture. This iconic representation of the bridge amidst the lush vegetation of Central Park, with skyscrapers in the background, inspires a sense of peace in the heart of urban bustle.
The way I've captured the light filtering through the trees and reflecting on the water aims to play with brightness in the nuances of color, aligned with an Impressionist exploration of light and shadows. The textures in the leaves and water are there to mark the depth, and the reflection of nature in the water symbolizes a certain symmetry between man and nature.
This simple visual representation aims to offer an experience that might invite the viewer to feel the subtle interaction between man, his environment, and light, which is consistent with my way of thinking that aims to push the boundaries of traditional perception. The discreet presence of the city in the background also reminds us that, although our daily environment may be dominated by human creation, there are pockets of natural beauty and moments of contemplation that reveal themselves to those who take the time to look.
Gapstow Bridge, for me, embodies an exploration of the limits of perception by inviting to consider not only the picturesque scene of the bridge but also the complex interaction between urban architecture and the serenity of the park, as well as the way light and colors modify our experience of a place.
Rocs et branches, lac vert, huile , 16x20
With this contemplative canvas, I invite the viewer to pause, to a moment of escape in a sanctuary of greenery and pure clarity. Captured in oil, the scene is a tribute to the timeless tranquility of nature, a window open to the immutable serenity that I seek to grasp and share.
Applying deep glazes and opaque touches that interact with light, I timidly evoke the techniques of masters such as Rembrandt and Rubens, while paying homage to the freedom of touch of the Impressionists.
Every element of this canvas - from the robust rocks to the reflections in the water - is imbued with a quest for purity. I try to transform the everyday into a visual meditation, where the boundaries between the real world and that of the canvas dissolve.
This painting is a fragment of my own psyche, a cartography of my thoughts. Painting becomes a transcendence where time evaporates with the artist, in turn leading the viewer to lose themselves in another world of calm.
Jardin en lumières huile, 24x30
The rays streaked the garden with rich greens, playing from apple to prairie, from chartreuse to almond... On the soft grassy cover, long shadows of bluish emerald slid towards the river. Was I in the imaginary land of Oz?
No matter how much I wanted to capture the image, photos could not render this strange and indefinable sensation. Through streaks and touches of color, I finally managed to imbue the sensation that had overwhelmed me that day.
In this pictorial quest, I let myself be guided by memories and sensations, those that cling to the eye and heart well before being imprinted on the canvas. The reality of this garden that I admire through the window goes beyond its forms; it resides in the freshness of the air, in the scent of flowers hidden among the grasses, the softness of the long shadows on the ground.
It is not a place that I seek to represent, but a moment of connection with nature...
Implosion mécanique de l’équilibre, huile, 24x30
The diversity of textures and colors can be interpreted as a quest for depth that transcends mere visual perception. It's a theme that aligns with my current research on realities beyond immediate sensory perception.
This painting reflects my journey and new perspectives on reality as we perceive it. In my eyes, this "reality" is deeply subjective. This visual work bears witness to the diversity of perceptions, seeking to demonstrate that our eyes and minds are influenced by unique frequencies linked to our personal experience.
My intention is to highlight the fact that vision is a personal matter, an intimate interaction between the observer and the observed object, thus generating a multitude of realities, each experienced differently by everyone. Through this work, I aim to awaken awareness of how our individual perceptions shape our understanding of the world around us.
My goal is to illustrate that what we "see" is not an absolute truth, but rather a relative interpretation, deeply rooted in our senses and individual consciousness.
Solitude Glacée, huile , or 24K, 24x30
In this work, I sought to momentarily capture light and express depth. I chose to pair traditional oil pigments with the sheen of 24k gold, not to embellish, but to reveal the hidden depth in the simplicity of an almost ordinary landscape.
The texture I build with this gold in the rocks is not random. This precious metal allows me to play with light in a way that defies time and space. I wanted the rough textures of the rocks and the metallic reflections of the gold to create a contrast that invites the eye to see beyond the surface.
As it is my intention to push the boundaries of traditional perception, I strive to create perceptions that force the imagination to experience new sensations. The richness of the emerald greens of the water, playing with the reflections of the gold, creates an almost magical atmosphere. This is where my artistic quest comes to life.
